Costing Calculator

The Costing Calculator is accessed via the top right hand corner of the Dashboard. This costing calculator can be used to generate a quotation for depositing a dataset via Ingest.

To build a quote:

  1. First, enter the total size of the collection in GB. This should be the size of all files that you wish to deposit.
  2. Select the Data Category that you want to deposit. A full list of data categories accepted by Ingest can be found in the Data Category pages.
  3. Select the file extension for those files from the drop down list.
  4. Enter the number of files for that category (as well as any other information relevant to that specific category).
  5. Once complete click the ‘Add to Quote’ button’.
  6. Repeat Step 2 for all files that you wish to deposit.

Tip

If you're unsure of your collection's total size, enter 100 GB in Step 1. Storage up to 100 GB is free, so this is a safe default for smaller collections.

Reset the quotation using the 'Reset Calculator' button in the bottom right hand corner of the page.

Download your quotation

To download a copy of your quotation click the ‘Download’ button on the bottom right hand corner of the page. This will allow you to download a pdf version of the costings calculated on this page that you can share with your organisation.

Please note, for collections exceeding 100,000 files or 1Tb of data, please contact us for costing advice and guidance.
